Nino Kalandadze: I have an impression that they were interested in how well I knew the history of Georgia

"I have an impression that they were interested in how well I knew the history of Georgia and how well I knew where the Davit Gareji complex was located," former Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said after questioning.

According to her, they agreed that her comment made in 2012 was taken out of context.

"The questions did not concern my connection with the case at all, did not concern the criminal case at all, did not concern my work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at all, but concerned my participation in talk shows, where I spoke as a citizen and not as a civil servant. Their questions were about my general historical education.

I was not asked any questions about the 2012 briefing, which did not concern Davit Gareji. We listened to that statement and we agreed that it was taken out of context. To be honest, I found it difficult to understand what they wanted to hear from me. I have an impression that they were interested in how well I knew the history of Georgia and how well I knew where the Davit Gareji complex was located”, Kalandadze said.

Nino Kalandadze was summoned to the Prosecutor's Office relating to the ongoing investigation into the Davit Gareji case.
