According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Davit Zalkaliani, the visit of U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Rob Portman to Georgia will be a good opportunity to further strengthen contacts with the new US administration.

As Zalkaliani notes, the senators will visit Georgia on June 2.

"On June 2-4, a delegation of the United States Senate will pay a visit to Georgia. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Rob Portman will be part of this delegation.

They will visit Ukraine before their visit to Georgia, which once again emphasizes the special importance of our country in the agenda of the United States Senate. It was quite a long time ago when the senators visited Georgia, I am glad that very soon, in a few days, our loyal friend senators will visit Georgia. It will be a very good opportunity in terms of timing, in terms of assessing the current geopolitical processes in the region, as well as in terms of further strengthening contacts with the new US administration.
