According to the head of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces, Viktor Gulevich, the country is not going to join Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but is sending five battalion tactical groups (BTG) to the border, on a rotation basis, to replace the forces already stationed there.
Gulevich denied plans to invade Ukraine.
"I want to emphasize that the transfer of troops has nothing to do with any preparation, and especially with the involvement in a special operation on the territory of Ukraine," Gulevich said.
Ukraine yesterday accused Russian aircraft of firing from Ukrainian airspace into Belarusian border villages.
