Aslan Bzhania: Minsk can become a neutral place for discussions about security in the South Caucasus

Minsk can become a neutral place for discussions about security in the South Caucasus, so-called president of occupied Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania said at the press conference after his visit to Russia and Belarus.

"Minsk can become a neutral place where we can hold discussions about security in the South Caucasus. This is one of the directions of work that we should strengthen", said Bzhania.

According to him, there were forces that did not want to hold a meeting between the leaders of Abkhazia and Belarus.

"Lukashenko, who welcomed me, drew attention to Georgia's sharp reaction," said Bzhania.

For reference, in 2022, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that "the Geneva discussions have become hostage to geopolitics" and indicated the need to conduct negotiations "in a more neutral place".
