The CEC publishes the rules for submission of party lists for the parties participating in the elections

The election administration explains the rules for submission of party lists for the parties participating in the elections and the related news.

According to the electoral legislation, each party has the right to present one party list. The number of candidates for parliament membership in the party list should not be less than 30 and more than 200. The electoral subject must submit the party list to the CEC chairman no later than the 30th day (September 26) before the election day.

√ It is not allowed to enter the same person in different party lists.

The news is that the party participating in the elections must attach to the party list the application about party affiliation filled and signed by each candidate for membership of the Parliament of Georgia. The procedure for submitting information about the candidate's party affiliation was defined by the Central Election Commission by a decree even before the election period (Decree No. 34/2024), which helps the parties to take into account and make timely relevant decisions regarding the party lists.

In the application about party affiliation, together with the candidate's questionnaire data (name, surname, personal number of a citizen of Georgia) and the date of filling out the application, it must be indicated that he is a member of the party with which the party list was presented, or is non-party, or if he left the party after registration of the party list/candidate During the last 6 months before submitting the statement, he is obliged to indicate. If the candidate is a member of another party registered in accordance with the Organic Law of Georgia "On Political Unions of Citizens", the name of the party must be indicated in the application.

A candidate for membership of the Parliament of Georgia will not be included in the electoral registration, and the electoral registration of a registered candidate will be canceled by the decree of the Chairman of the CEC if it is found that the candidate is a member of another party registered in accordance with the Organic Law of Georgia "On Political Unions of Citizens" or the requirements defined by the above-mentioned resolution are violated.

In addition to the above, the party list must include a registration card filled and signed by each candidate for membership of the Parliament of Georgia, a notice of deprivation of rights, a notice of drug testing, a photocopy of a Georgian citizen's ID card or a Georgian citizen's passport and a photograph.

The notification is public and published on the official website of the CEC.
