Parliament’s Vice-Speaker assesses minority’s refusal to undergo registration as boycott

The behavior of the parliamentary minority can be assessed as a boycott, - Parliament’s Vice-Speaker Gia Volski said prior to the plenary sitting today.

Registration was conducted twice at today’s sitting, however, the opposition refused to undergo it. The minority lawmakers claim that there are not enough majority MPs today in Parliament, where the country’s major financial document, 2019 draft budget, is submitted.

"It is clear that a political demarche is a certain form, but this action during today’s discussion can be assessed as a boycott and this is not good for the country, "Gia Volski said addressing the minority MPs.

The plenary sitting of the Parliament, where the Minister of Finance plans to submit the draft budget for 2019, failed to be open.

The registration was conducted twice : first time there was no quorum, while the presence of 78 MPs was shown on the board during the second registration. The opposition lawmakers claim that it was a wrong number of MPs and there was an unlawful use of the remote controllers.
