Report on implementation of Association Agreement by Georgia to be brought to vote in European Parliament today

The report on the implementation of the Association Agreement by Georgia will be brought to a vote at the plenary session of the European Parliament today.

Yesterday discussions were held in the European Parliament regarding the report. Speeches were delivered by Andrejs Mamikins, Member of the European Parliament, Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, etc.

The report evaluates the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement by Georgia. The Georgian government is encouraged to continue ensuring stability, further democratic reforms and economic and social improvement for the citizens of Georgia who suffer from poverty, unemployment and high level economic migration. Other topics of the report include visa liberalization, occupation, pressure exerted on Turkish citizens in Georgia, media pluralism, etc.
