Vladimir Putin calls Russian-Abkhazian relations of special, strategic and allied nature

The Russian-Abkhazian relations are of special, strategic and allied nature, - Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with the de facto president of the occupied region of Abkhazia, Raul Khajimba.

"I'm glad to see you. We met in the summer too. Our relations, of course, are of strategic and allied nature," the Russian President said.

Vladimir Putin noted that it is necessary to speed up the economic development of Abkhazia, which requires a lot of efforts. "Our trade turnover is growing slowly: last year the growth was 5% and in the first 9-10 months of this year - 2%," he said.
