Six citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Georgia go on hunger strike

Six citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Georgia, arrested in a special operation, launched a hunger strike, - lawyer Giorgi Rostomashvili told journalists.

"One of them was on a hunger strike yesterday and I asked him to stop it, but today everyone went on a hunger strike. They are protesting against everything that happened to them," Rostomashvili said.

Pre-trial detention was ordered by Tbilisi City Court for one Georgian and six Ukrainian citizens today. The judge fully granted the motion of the prosecution regarding the application of pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint.

According to the judge, the threats indicated by the prosecutor were real. In particular, the prosecutor said that there was a danger that the defendants would try to hide and commit a new offense.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a special operation at the Guria and Alliance hotel located in Tbilisi and arrested 6 persons a few days ago. Various weapons and ammunition were seized from the hotels.
