Georgia’s Interior Minister, Turkish Coast Guard Commander discuss cooperation issues

Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia has met with Commander of the Turkish Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Ahmet Kendir. As InterPressNews was told by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the sides talked about the successful cooperation between coast guard agencies of Georgia and Turkey.

Giorgi Gakharia informed the guest about the current and pending reforms at the Ministry, as well as the priorities of the agency. The Minister of Internal Affairs also spoke about the measures implemented in the direction of stepping up the security of Georgia's Coast Guard and the Black Sea region.

Within the framework of the visit, Commander of the Turkish Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Ahmet Kendir, met with the head of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Temur Kekelidze and the members of the Joint Commission.

The sides discussed the issues related to deepening the future cooperation.
