Defence Minister to pay two-day visit to France

Minister of Defense of Georgia Levan Izoria has left for the French Republic on a two-day visit.

As InterPressNews was told by the Ministry of Defense, Levan Izoria will start his visit from the legislative body of the French Republic - the National Assembly and Senate.

According to the Ministry, within the frameworks of his visit, Levan Izoria will meet with his French counterpart Florence Parly.

After the welcome ceremony and face-to-face meeting, Levan Izoria and Florence Parly will discuss existing and future issues of defense cooperation between Georgia and France in the extended format. The Ministry says that a new contract on the second stage of the development of Air Defense will be signed with „Thales“ company. The agreement envisages equipment of Georgia with modern system of airspace management and control.

“Levan Izoria and his French counterpart will sign a technical agreement, according to which, the French side will provide the Logistic Support to the Georgian troops participating in the Peaceful Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA),” the Ministry said.
