Levan Izoria, James Appathurai discuss Georgia-NATO relations

Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria hosted James Appathurai, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia. As the Ministry of Defense told InterPressNews, the sides discussed the successful implementation of the initiatives undertaken by the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package and set the practical mechanisms for future NATO-Georgia cooperation, including in the context of the strengthening of the Black Sea Security.

Levan Izoria said that in the following years the principle - more NATO in Georgia would be ensured especially through joint exercises and high level visits.

According to the Defence Ministry, James Appathurai praised the reforms carried out in the Georgian defense sphere and thanked Georgia on behalf of the Alliance for its contribution to the world security.
