Strasbourg Court declares inadmissible complaints against Georgia filed by Russian citizens regarding 2008 war

The Strasbourg Court declared inadmissible the complaints filed against Georgia regarding the 2008 august war, – the Ministry of Justice of Georgia said on December 13.

The European Court of Human Rights discussed three cases – “Dzhioyeva and others v. Georgia”, “Kudukhova v. Georgia” and “Naniyeva and Bagayev v. Georgia”, all Russian citizens, claiming that the activities of the Georgian army in August 2008 put their lives at risk, they were subjected to inhuman treatment and discrimination and their properties were damaged.

The Strasbourg Court declared the complaints “inadmissible and unsubstantiated.”

The Court failed to resolve the issue of admissibility related to the complaint - “Dzhioyeva and others v. Georgia”. “Accordingly, the Government of Georgia has been requested to present its position on the specific complaints of this applicant, "the Ministry of Justice says.
