Giorgi Margvelashvili defines role of “outgoing president” in inauguration ceremony

President Giorgi Margvelashvili made changes to the decree, which determines the rule of inauguration of the President of Georgia.

According to the presidential administration, the amendments "reflect the current constitutional reality". The amendments will be published on the Legislative Herald at the end of the day.

The administration does not specify what was amended in the decree, but a source told InterPresNews that Margvelashvili defined the role of the outgoing president in the inauguration ceremony; changes were amde to the list of attendees as well.

The role of the outgoing president in the inauguration ceremony had not been defined up to now.

"This change is the continuation of a first precedent, when outgoing president is transferring power to a new president in a civilized way,"- President's Secretary, Ana Natsvlishvili said.
