The Ministry of Internal Affairs has offered alternate transportation to the opposition and their supports heading to Telavi, - reads the statement recently released by the Ministry.

"We offered them a safe, Kvareli-Telavi route due to the high number of vehicles on the road. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia offered alternative transportation to the demonstrators, which would provide their safe transportation to Telavi. However, despite our offer, the demonstrators damaged the police vehicles.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again urges organizers of the rally to observe the law and obey the lawful requirements of the police. Any offense will be immediately responded and prevented by police within the law," reads the statement.
