Paata Manjgaladze: If the government can sacrifice Lazare Grigoriadis, let's not be quiet - whoever needs it will detain us at any time

According to him, he has no hope of a fair trial.

"From the beginning, the person [Lazare Grigoriadis] was arrested for political reasons. I have no hope for a fair trial. I will be very surprised if the court releases him because he really has no choice. If the government can sacrifice one person, let's not be quiet. He will hold us whenever he needs to. This is a message", said Manjgaladze.

According to his own statement, in case of a guilty verdict, President Salome Zurabishvili should pardon Lazare Grigoriadis.

"The president must decide. People are so busy that there is no evidence. My expectation is that he should be pardoned. We have no expertise. If we had, we would not be here", said Paata Manjgaladze.

The trial in the case of 21-year-old Lazare Grigoriadis, who was arrested on charges of harming the health of police officers and destroying state property during the March protests, was postponed until April 8.

For information, Lazare Grigoriadis, who is accused of violating the health of police officers and destroying state property, was imprisoned on March 31 as a preventive measure.
