Salome Zurabishvili: Citizens abroad have the right to request the opening of a polling station if more than 50 people live in one city, but we hear statements: "No, we cannot and will not do it. We cannot open it in every corridor” - these terms are incomprehensible to me

There is a law, citizens abroad have the right to request the opening of a polling station if they are on consular registration and more than 50 people live in one city - on the other hand, in the Parliament, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and many others officially declare that "No, we cannot and will not do it. Sometimes they say we don't have the resources, sometimes they say we cannot open it in every corridor. These terms are incomprehensible to me, - the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, said during a meeting with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, representatives of the Central Election Commission, non-governmental organizations and the Delegation of the European Union.

According to her, "no answer has been given by the government, what can be done" in order for Georgians living abroad to participate in the parliamentary elections.
