Shalva Papuashvili: I had meetings with the leadership of NED and they promised me that they would make the finances public, but they did not make them public - now I wonder what idea this organization has about the Georgian people

I wonder what idea this organization NED has about the Georgian people, whether they consider the Georgian people equal when they spend money and I won't tell you what I do, because you may think it's radicalism, but you won't understand it, you don't have the ability to understand it yet. - Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said about this.

According to Shalva Papuashvili, he had a conversation with the leadership of NED on the issue of disclosure of finances and received a promise from them, although they did not fulfill the promise.

"First, let's ask the question - why does it happen that different structures bother to post [income information]. The reason is simple - they hide it. There is no other explanation for this, since for example I had meetings with the leadership of NED last year. I had it in the spring, and then I had another meeting. They promised me that they would make the finances public, but they didn't. What is this called? This is called only one name - hiding. Who are they hiding? I told them not to send it to me, but to make it public. They hide it from people. Now I wonder what idea this organization [NED] has about the Georgian people. They consider the Georgian people equal, when they spend money, millions in political projects, they say that we came with our money, Georgian people, you should do me a favor now, but I won't tell you what I'm doing. It will be a favor in disguise. You will not understand this, why should you know this goodness, you may not understand it, or if you see it, you may think it is not goodness and think it is radicalism, but you will not understand it, you are not yet capable of understanding it, so shut up, I will do my job, spend the money, and you will feel the benefits. This is an arrogant attitude in reality, nothing else," said Shalva Papuashvili.
