Irakli Zarkua to Kelly Degnan: You are a wrecker, Mrs. Ambassador! You failed as an ambassador! - I tried to do a farewell with nice words, but unfortunately, that's what happened, so: Goodbye my darling!

You are a wrecker, Mrs. Ambassador! I want to address you and tell you directly, you did not understand your mission, you did not understand that you were not a representative of the party, but a state, you failed as an ambassador - Goodbye my darling! - This is how the member of Georgian Dream, Irakli Zarkua, addressed the US Ambassador, Kelly Degnan.

According to Zarkua, Degnan was probably also one of the creators of the revolutionary wave in the country.

"As it turns out, the main partner who is supposed to support the democratic processes, peace, Mrs. Degnan, who is the (US) representative, is questioning the upcoming electronic elections, which we have implemented on their recommendation and moreover, we have put it into practice during the midterm elections where no error was detected, and if you question this in 2024, you are a wrecker, Mrs. Ambassador. I want to address you and tell you directly, you did not understand your mission, you did not understand that you were not a representative of the party, but of the state, of the state on which we hope to this day and will continue to do so in the future. We will advance further in European and Euro-Atlantic integration, we will build a more democratic society and country. Unfortunately, you have not taken a single step in this direction, just like Georgia does not have free trade with the USA and you have not done anything for it. Georgia does not have visa-free travel with the USA, and you have not done anything for it, nor have you invested. I ask the question, why is there no American money in the port of Anaklia? Why didn't you or others take the initiative to put it in? We are talking about "Russia, China", they were forcing us Kazakh investments too, those who were involved there... why not, come and invest money, it is strategically important for us, for you too, double standard won't work.

I'm sorry that you gave me the opportunity to say this, but you said it yourself that the Georgian nation is a society with the greatest culture, civilization, and education, and we somehow can figure out how to vote electronically. I am very sorry, Madam Ambassador, but you did not succeed as an ambassador, and this must be said. I am sorry, you have increased the polarization in the Georgian society with your activities and statements, and this is demonstrated by what we heard now, when all partners, and you advised us to make the elections 100 percent electronic for Georgia, which would be protected from manipulations. It turns out that you don't like this either, because you were probably one of the creators of the revolutionary wave here, and we suppressed it 3-4 times, because it was never in the interests of Georgia and its population to create unrest and open a second front, which the radicals tried to do. I'm sorry, but you made a lot of mistakes and you ended in the same way. I tried to do a farewell with nice words, but unfortunately, that's what happened, so: Goodbye my darling!" Zarkua said.

For information, according to the US Ambassador, Kelly Degnan, the US also saw that the electronic system does not guarantee that everything will be clean and fair. According to Degnan, it can also be manipulated if people are not trained to use the system and if voters do not understand how it works.

According to her, a long-term mission of monitoring is also important, because people are intimidated, bribed for votes, threatened before the election day, and this tactic has been used in Georgia for many years under different governments.
