Ketevan Tsikhelashvili: Procedures of getting passports will be simplified for residents of the occupied regions

Procedures of establishing Georgian citizenship and getting a passport have been simplified for the residents of the occupied regions, - Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, Minister of Reconciliation and Civic Equality, told reporters.

According to her, the relevant decision was made at today's governmental meeting.

In particular, the term of establishing citizenship has been reduced to a month and it will be free.

'The change applies to any stakeholder, who was born in the occupied territories of Georgia or is ancestor of such person's son/daughter', the Minister said.
