PM Bakhtadze: It’s my government’s strategy to turn Georgia into a center of the region

It’s my government’s strategy to turn Georgia into a center of the region in the fields of business, trade, finance, logistics, tourism and education, - Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze stated in an interview with "Deutsche Welle".

As InterPressNews was told by the Prime Minister's administration, Mamuka Bakhtadze answered questions of leading German media outlets on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Mamuka Bakhtadze emphasized the role of Georgia on the shortest route connecting Europe and Asia and noted that more and more companies are interested in investing in Georgia.

"If you look at the map, Georgia is naturally a candidate for becoming the center of the region. We are the gateway for 8 countries, which do not have access to sea the sea. That's why my government's strategy is to turn Georgia into a center of the region in the fields of business, trade, finance, logistics, tourism and education. We try to make very creative reforms in order to attract more investments in Georgia. We consider our country is a bridge from Asia to Europe, because we are the shortest route. We want to support the growing trade turnover between Asia and Europe. For this reason we are making huge amounts of investments in our infrastructure and I am very pleased to see in Davos that more and more companies are interested in investing in Georgia, "PM Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
