Head of Government’s Administration meets Ambassador Carl Hartzell

Kakha Kakhishvili, Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia, met with the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Carl Hartzell. As InterPressNews was informed by the Government’s Administration, at the meeting the sides talked about the projects that are being implemented with the support of the EU in Georgia.

According to their information Kakha Kakhishvili highlighted successful fulfilment of the Georgia's commitment within the framework of EU budget support programmes. According to him, public administration reform is one of the priority directions of the Government of Georgia, which is underway with active involvement of the civil society activism and aims to introduce European principles.

The Head of the Government’s Administration stressed the importance of developing a united state policy in terms of human rights and stated that further strengthening of cooperation with the EU is necessary to boost effectiveness of the Human Rights Council. According to Kakha Kakhishvili, the Inter-Agency Commission on Violence against Women and Domestic Violence issues is very active and he thanked the European Union for its support in this regard.

“We discussed a number of important issues. Namely, we talked about human rights, gender issues, and public administration reform. We have been working together in this direction for a long time and actively cooperate with the government’s administration, "said Carl Hartzell.
