Beka Odisharia to chair Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee

Beka Odisharia will become the chairman of Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, replacing MP Zviad Kvachantiradze.

The decision on election of Beka Odisharia was made at today’s meeting between the members of the parliamentary majority.

Zviad Kvachantiradze has left the parliamentary majority, but has not left the post of a Chair of Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chairman of the “Georgian Dream” fraction, told InterPressNews that Zviad Kvachantiradze was elected as a chairman of Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee after he was nominated to the post by the parliamentary majority and now, when MP Kvachantiradze left the parliamentary majority, he will be replaced by MP Beka Odisharia.

Parliament needs the support from at least 76 lawmakers to approve this decision.
