The opposition United National Movement (UNM) might nominate ex-first lady Sandra Roelofs as its mayoral candidate in early mayoral elections in Zugdidi city.

A source told InterPressNews that the party is discussing the candidature of Sandra Roelofs for the post of Zugdidi mayor. In this context, the party is focused on the result achieved by Sandra Roelofs in Zugdidi constituency during the parliamentary elections.

“In fact, she won the elections in Zugdidi during the parliamentary elections. Sandra Roelofs is the main candidate in the discussion process, " the source told InterPressNews.
