US Ambassador Ross Wilson to depart Georgia in May, Elizabeth Rood to resume her role as Chargé d’Affaires

Ambassador Ross Wilson, who has served as American Chargé d’Affaires in Tbilisi since early November, will be departing Georgia upon completion of his temporary assignment in mid-May, the US Embassy to Georgia said in a statement on April 25.

“Ambassador Ross Wilson, who has served as American Chargé d’Affaires in Tbilisi since early November, will be departing Georgia and returning to private life upon completion of his temporary assignment in mid-May,” the statement reads.

According to the US Embassy, after the departure of Ross Wilson, Elizabeth Rood will resume her role as Chargé d’Affaires.

“After his departure, Elizabeth Rood will resume her role as Chargé d’Affaires with the full confidence of Washington,” the US Embassy says.
