Audit Service reveals  GEL 66 million violation in 2018

The volume of violations revealed by the financial and compliance audits amounted to GEL 66 million, according to the State Audit Office's 2018 report.

The report reads that in 2018, the Audit Office conducted 25 financial and 53 compliance audits, which is 87% of total audited activities. The total volume of violations revealed by these audits amounted to GEL 66 million.

“These violations mainly are the cases of ineffective, uneconomic and unreasonable use of budget resources and do not include the identified shortcomings of the accounting records. The Audit Office has analyzed the last year’s financial and compliance audits and identified systemic violations that are important and topical for the state, "the report reads.

In particular, according to the report, a violation of GEL 21 million has been revealed in the management of procurement;

A violation of GEL 20.2 million has been revealed in the direction of asset management and GEL 24.4 million violation- in management of budget resources.

The report of the State Audit Office of 2018 has already been submitted to the Parliament. The document will initially be discussed by the Finance and Budget Committee of the Parliament and then it will be submitted to the Plenary Sitting of Parliament.
