Saudi Arabia appoints its first resident ambassador to Georgia

First Resident Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Georgia Abdullah Al-Mutairi presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia said on Monday.

At the meeting following the credentials ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs positively assessed the decision on the opening of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Georgia and underlined that it will significantly facilitate the strengthening of relations between the two countries and will activate the inter-community contacts.

The sides discussed a full range of issues on the agenda of relations between Georgia and Saudi Arabia and underlined the importance of strengthening links in the political, trade-economic, tourism and other fields. The sides agreed to further develop cooperation.
