Patriarchate : We distance ourselves from aggressive statements

The Georgian Patriarchate has released another statement on LGBT-pride.

According to the statement, the Patriarchate believes that aggressive statements by clergymen as well as by parish are totally unacceptable and it distances itself from them.

"Recent developments around LGBT-pride caused tension in the country. The Georgian Patriarchate has expressed its sharp negative attitude towards it. We consider that aggressive statements by clergymen as well as by parish are totally unacceptable and we distance ourselves from them. First of all, we call on clergymen to refrain from holding the briefings arbitrarily, making uncoordinated public statements, which contradicts Christian doctrine,” the statement reads.
