Government denies reports about abolishment of Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture

The Government of Georgia denies the information about abolishment of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.

The Prime Minister's press office has released a statement regarding the information disseminated by some media outlets yesterday, and noted the document on the cancellation of the ministry was "fake".

“Yesterday, on August 19, media outlets received a false document about the reform implemented in the Ministry of Environment. It seems that the act aimed to discredit the government and was a provocation. Unfortunately, some media outlets yielded to this provocation. The Prime Minister’s press office is in constant coordination with media outlets and the colleagues always can check or/and receive desirable information,” the statement reads.

The PM’s press office calls on media outlets to be guided by the information received from their official e-mail address - pressoffice@gov.ge and do not rely on fake documents in order to avoid dissemination of false information.
