Giorgi Margvelashvili: Our Patriarch has withstood KGB and he will surely survive this bite of a mosquito

Our Patriarch has withstood KGB and he will surely survive this bite of a mosquito, - former President Giorgi Margvelashvili told reporters.

The former President visited the Patriarchate and met with Ilia II yesterday.

As Giorgi Margvelashvili noted that the kind of statements we heard are not made just because of anger and that “some forces are behind this." However, Giorgi Margvelashvili did not elaborate on who the forces are.

Margvelashvili spent about an hour in the Patriarchate.

“I came to the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia with my desire to meet with him, express my support, love and respect. I came here to say that such incidents, in my opinion, might only have a political purpose, but they will not affect the person who has done great things for our country”, Margvelashvili said.
