Our nation has been gifted with love from God, and we must take care of that love, -Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II said at the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where a solemn liturgy was held in connection with his enthronement.

The patriarch thanked the Georgian nation for love and said that “today is a truly historic day”.

“Today is truly a historic day. It is the great mercy from God on us. I am grateful to God and our nation for giving me the opportunity to do this job. Our nation is has been gifted with love from God and we must take care of that love. We should not respond to love with hate. I am grateful for your love. God bless you,” the patriarch said.

December 25 is the day of enthronement of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
