According to independent MP Eka Beselia, it is possible for the government to move towards a consensus on the electoral system.

As Beselia told reporters, at this stage the whole responsibility rests with the ruling team and it will be known what decision will be taken in a few days.

“We have come to a crucial moment. A new constitutional bill should be submitted in a few days. I hope the ruling party is ready for consensus and changes. We will have active consultations and work to find a compromise in these two days, I hope this is possible.

International organizations have never had such a strong involvement and I would like to thank the diplomats for that. Perhaps in these two days we will have the opportunity to talk about specific changes. Now all the responsibility rests with the ruling party. We already have final consultations and everything will be known perhaps today, or tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow,” Beselia said.
