200 Georgian citizens to be brought from Italy today

200 citizens of Georgia will be brought from Italy through Rome-Tbilisi flight today, Director General of Georgian Airways Roman Bokeria told InterPressNews.

He said that two flights will be carried out to bring Georgian citizens from Italy.

“In collaboration with the Georgian Ministries of Economy and Foreign Affairs, this decision was finally agreed yesterday. Since the airports in Italy are closed and flights canceled, it was difficult to obtain two slots at Rome Airport. Two planes have already departed and will return at 19:30. Our flight attendant were given special instructions and equipment, ”Bokeria said.

According to him, the Government of Georgia will cover the costs for the transportation of the 200 Georgian citizens.

Georgia suspended direct flights to Italy on March 6. Direct flights have also been stopped with China and Iran.
