Galip Ozturk, founder of JSC Metro Avrasya Investment Holding, has donated GEL 500,000 to the StopCoV Fund, as well as medical equipment and medicines worth GEL 1 million to the Georgian health care system.
Considering the current situation in the world, as well as civic responsibility and solidarity, the founder of Metro Avrasya Investment Holding, on behalf of the holding’s affiliated companies, made a financial contribution of GEL 500,000 to the StopCov Fund that supports social and health care activities. Galip Ozturk also donated medical equipment and medicines worth GEL 1 million against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. JSC Metro Avrasya Investment Holding and its affiliates are taking all necessary effective measures to continue operating smoothly, which is so important for our country's economy today. Among them are GREEN INSURANCE GEORGIA, an insurance company that has been operating since the beginning of the year.
"Metro Avrasya Investment and its affiliates welcome the creation of the above fund, which is aimed at identifying the needs of combating the virus and properly distributing the resources, in coordination with the private sector. We believe that this is an effective way of joint efforts and therefore we decided to take part in this very timely initiative of the government", - a representative of the holding said.
About the Metro Holding: The number of employees in the joint stock company and its affiliates has varied from 1,000 to 2,000. Apart from business activities, Galip Ozturk is actively engaged in philanthropy.
Galip Ozturk has donated GEL 3 million to the Solidarity Fund founded by the government. In addition, several large families have been provided housing in Batumi on Galip Ozturk’s initiative.
