PM says Georgia seems to welcome first tourists from Israel

The first country seems to be Israel, with which we will have a safe green corridor and which will provide an opportunity for Georgia to welcome first tourists soon, - Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at the government meeting.

As the Prime Minister noted, Georgia should be one of the countries that will be able to open up and receive tourism. According to Gakharia, the Tourism Agency and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economy are working hard for this.

"Today, we can say that we have successful negotiations with several countries in this direction. The first such country seems to be Israel, with which we will have a safe green corridor and which will provide an opportunity for Georgia to welcome tourists soon. Of course, we will do our best to host them in a way that suits our country and we will take care of their health.

In addition, active negotiations are underway with the Czech Republic, Poland, the Baltic states, Austria, and, of course, our neighbors.

However, we must note once again that for this it is necessary for all of us to follow the safety rules. Of course, we need to get back to normal life more and more quickly, but once again, I would like to emphasize that we need to draw conclusions from this crisis and turn this crisis into an opportunity for our country not only in the direction of tourism but also in the direction of agriculture as well," - Giorgi Gakharia stated.
