Adam Kinzinger: I want to congratulate everybody that voted for the constitutional amendments and I also call for the full implementation of the March 8 agreement

I want to congratulate everybody that voted for the constitutional amendments and I also call for the full implementation of the March 8 agreement, - Congressman Adam Kinzinger said at the video conference.

“I got the news today that the second round passed and it passed with only Georgian Dream votes. I want to congratulate everybody that voted for this. It's a positive step. I know there's still some ways to go. I also call for the full implementation of the March 8 agreement. I think it's important. What I am not going to do though is to get in the middle of who's right and who's wrong, what still needs to be done. That's not our job. Our job is just to continue to encourage both sides to work together. And I do that now”, said the Congressman.

He also touched upon the pandemic and noted that the United States and Georgia should continue to have a strong partnership.

“We continue to basically monitor what's happening with COVID in Georgia. We think that there's been some good development. But as it happened anywhere, when you try to open up the economy, there's going to be some increasing cases. We continue to stand with the Georgian people. And we hope for very speedy recovery there and all around the world.

It’s going to be important for the United States and Georgia to continue to have a strong partnership going forward. And I think it's really important to underline the very important relationship we have with each other. And we consider Georgia to be a very important partner to us. It's not always just the other way around. So we'll continue to monitor that, as well as the occupation of Georgia, the illegal occupation. We continue to stand with the people of Georgia to say that all of Georgia needs to be free. It's a basic right of the Georgian people”, said Adam Kinzinger.
