Giorgi Gakharia states that the strategic partnership with the US is developing in all directions

The strategic partnership with the US - our most important partner - is developing in all mutually and critically important directions, - stated PM Giorgi Gakharia while presenting the annual report to the Parliament.

As the PM stated, those directions include - the further democratization of the country, human rights, security and economy, with the latter becoming more and more important.

"I would like to thank our strategic partner for its aid in fight the coronavirus during the last four months. Special thanks to the US for its help throughout these years. The materialized result of this is the Lugar Laboratory which played a concrete and absolutely important role in the fight against the pandemic. We should also mention the two-party act in support of Georgia, we need to continue its further development. We should remember the assignment act too which was adopted by the US government - the financial aid for Georgia has increased for the current year too and amounts to 132 million USD.", - stated PM Giorgi Gakharia.

According to the PM, the widely discussed new dimension in US-Georgia relations is the economy.

"Naturally, we are careful while speaking about the special trade regimes which we can have in terms of future perspective. This topic needs much caution and detailed work - we should do everything in this direction till the end of the year and onwards", - stated Gakharia.
