As a result of the international police cooperation coordinated by Europol, an unprecedented international police operation - 2BaGoldMule - was carried out, - the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

The operation involved law enforcement agencies from 16 countries, 20 members of the criminal network QQAAZZ were arrested, who were trying to launder tens of millions of euros under the orders of the world's leading cybercriminals.

According to the Ministry, the operation was preceded by a complex investigation carried out by the law enforcement agencies of Portugal, the United States and Spain, as well as the law enforcement agencies of the United Kingdom, Georgia, Latvia, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Australia, Sweden, Austria and Belgium.

"The Center for International Cooperation in Law Enforcement of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Cybercrime Division of the Main Division for Combating Organized Crime were actively involved in the investigation. It turned out that the QQAAZZ network, who had members in Latvia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania and Belgium, had opened hundreds of corporate and personal bank accounts around the world, where money stolen by cybercriminals was transferred. The money was then transferred to QQAAZZ-controlled accounts and was often converted into crypto currency. International police cooperation is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ministry continues to actively provide various types of operational assistance within the framework of bilateral cooperation with Europol, Interpol and various countries," the statement said.
