According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, the Georgian government will do everything possible to involve Western investors in the Anaklia project.

As Turnava told reporters in Brussels in response to a question regarding Anaklia port, the project is important for Georgia economically, strategically and politically.

"The Association Council will give us an opportunity discuss the Anaklia project. Based on the instructions of the Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, we have resumed work on searching for an investor and preparing a tender for the port of Anaklia. We will share this information with our European partners. One area of our discussion is more connections across the Black Sea, more transportation services, including the strengthening of port infrastructure. We will do our best and Western investors will join this project. This is very important for us economically, as well as strategically and politically", - Turnava said.
