PM: There are a million doses of Pfizer in the country, about a million doses of Sinovac, on my instructions we are working on importing a million doses of Sinopharm and 2 million doses of Pfizer

We are well aware that challenges lie ahead; One of the major challenges now is the epidemic. As you know, in the last few weeks, we have imposed local restrictions in order to stabilize the situation, and you can see the trend that has emerged in recent days and the signs that already give us grounds for optimism, - said Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili during the nomination of Ambrolauri mayoral candidate of the Georgian Dream Zviad Mkheidze.

According to the Prime Minister, the task of the government is to keep the situation stable and not to leave any citizen without care.

"Our main task is to manage the situation and not leave any of our citizens without care and treatment. We did our best to bring in more than enough vaccines. We have imported more than 3 million vaccines, today there are one million doses of Pfizer in the country, about one million doses of Chinese vaccine Sinovac, and on my instructions we are working on importing one million doses of Sinopharm and 2 million doses of Pfizer, which will definitely help us in the coming months. Of course, the solution in this situation is vaccinations and I would like to call on our population to get involved in the vaccination process", - said the Prime Minister.

According to Irakli Gharibashvili, the gradual opening of the economy was also important, which had concrete results.

"The consistent, gradual opening of our economy has had instant results. We have had unprecedented economic growth and the country has grown by 12% in the first 7 months. In April we had a growth of 45%, in May - 25%, in June - 18%, in July - almost 10%. Of course, this trend and this process need to be maintained. This development also needs peace and stability", - said the Prime Minister.
