Tako Charkviani, the founder of Law and Justice, has established General People's Movement for the peaceful return of the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, to his country.
As Charkviani stated at a briefing today, Saakashvili’s political persecution must be stopped and his citizenship must be restored.
"Practically, the state has collapsed. 86 people die every day in a country that has three-million population. In fact, this is tantamount to genocide. We had a state, a puppet, but we do not have a state any more, due to Ivanishvili’s government that is working for Russia. Therefore, and based on the statement of Mikheil Saakashvili on his return, which I personally consider necessary, I took the initiative to found a public organization called the General People's Movement. We must help the president who developed the Georgian state return to the country peacefully”, said Charkviani.
According to her, the coalition government is coming and Mikheil Saakashvili must return to Georgia peacefully.
“His political persecution must be stopped, his citizenship, which he was wrongly deprived of, must be restored. It was an unconstitutional act. He must return. Let him work, he is a brilliant reformer. He has already proved it! We are not incapable of creating a Western-style justice system that the whole West is talking about," Charkviani said.
Mikheil Saakashvili mentioned in a video address on his Facebook page that he plans to return to Georgia for the local self-government elections.
