5 new cases of Omicron detected in Georgia

According to the head of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, 5 new cases of Omicron have been detected in Georgia.

According to him, 29 cases of Omicron have been reported in the country so far. At the same time, as Gamkrelidze noted, several more samples are now being examined.

“Omicron has alarmed the whole world already. In a number of countries it has replaced 75% of the Delta variant. We all need to take it very seriously that we are dealing with a new serious challenge.

The way to end the pandemic is mass vaccination of the population. 70% of the entire population must be vaccinated to end the pandemic. The third shot is already becoming necessary and important for human health. Studies have shown that after the booster shot, the immunity is quite high in relation to Omicron as well," Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
