Georgia reports 5,504 new cases of coronavirus, 24 deaths

According to stopcov.ge, as part of the intensive testing, 51,838 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 25,161 antigen tests and 26,677 PCR tests.

Testing revealed 5,504 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected to date since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 995,687.

As of January 15, the daily positive rate is 10.62%, for the last 14 days - 9.43% and for 7 days - 9.60%.

In the last 24 hours, 3,304 people recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 928,441.

24 deaths from coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 14,449 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.

Out of 5,504 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 3,222 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 768, Imereti - 483, Kvemo Kartli - 189, Shida Kartli - 203, Guria - 109, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 184, Kakheti - 159, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 101, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 72 , Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti -14.
