Irakli Gharibashvili: We are watching the ongoing war in Ukraine with great concern, what is happening in Ukraine is absolutely unacceptable

We are watching the ongoing war in Ukraine with great concern. What is happening in Ukraine is absolutely unacceptable, - Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said at the beginning of the governmental session.

As the Prime Minister noted, Georgia has expressed strong support and solidarity with Ukraine at all levels.

"We are watching the ongoing war in Ukraine with great concern. Once again I want to express our pain. What is happening in Ukraine is absolutely unacceptable. Invading Ukraine and conducting military operations there is, of course, unacceptable and contrary to the principles and rules of international law. We have communicated with our Ukrainian colleagues about this, expressed our solidarity and support at the political level.

In addition, I would like to tell you that this morning, by my decision, 100 tons of humanitarian cargo arrived in Poland, which has been delivered to the Ukrainian side. In addition, Ukrainian citizens, who are in Tbilisi and are not able to return to their homeland, are provided with all services free of charge.

In all international formats and levels, be it the OSCE Ministerial or the UN format, we have expressed strong support and solidarity with Ukraine. On my instructions, the Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in the OSCE Ministerial and Georgia joined the EU document. Thus once again, we clearly expressed our support for Ukraine and showed our solidarity with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. We also supported the decision of the Council of Europe to suspend the rights of Russia. Georgia, along with 80 other states, also co-sponsored the UN Security Council resolution," Gharibashvili said.
