There is a very good relationship between Prime Minister Gharibashvili and Shmyhal - I assume the Prime Minister was not directly involved in creating this tweet, this is how Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani responded to the statement made by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on Twitter.
According to him, there is an excellent relationship between the Prime Minister of Georgia and his Ukrainian counterpart and Georgia continues to assist Ukraine, as for the statement made, it has a difficult emotional background.
"I was told about this tweet, I was told that it was made in Georgian. I understand the emotional background that is created in Ukraine. I want the public to know very well that there is a really good and warm relationship between Prime Minister Gharibashvili and Prime Minister Shmyhal, which was established during his recent visits to Georgia, as well as when Prime Minister was in Ukraine at his invitation. We have established not only an official, but also a very close friendly, partnership, genuine brotherly relationship," Zalkaliani said.
According to Zalkaliani, the statement may not be tweeted by him personally.
"I assume the Prime Minister was not directly involved in creating this tweet.. But these are my assumptions, because the text that is written in Georgian - I have a lot of doubts and I have my opinion on where it might come from. But let's drop it, because I understand the gravity of the situation there, and against this emotional background, a post like this could have been made," Zalkaliani said.
According to him, the relations between the Prime Ministers of the two countries are firm and irreversible.
"I want the public to know that the relationship that has developed between Prime Minister Gharibashvili and Prime Minister Shmyhal, and the support that Prime Minister Gharibashvili has for him, is firm and irreversible, and we will stand by our Ukrainian brothers, as we did in past, nothing can stop it," he added.
