Bacho Akhalaia leaves prison

Former Minister of Defense Bacho Akhalaia has left the 12th penitentiary institution in Rustavi. He was met by relatives and friends near the prison.

Bacho Akhalaia's 9-year sentence expired on November 6 last year, however, as his wife and lawyer Ani Nadareishvili explains, the 9-year sentence count started from the date of the verdict, not considering the measure of the restraint detention period.

The former Minister of Defense, Bacho Akhalaia, was sentenced to 9 years in prison in the case of torture of prisoners.
