Putin can strike Georgia only because I am in prison here, the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili said at his trial.

He demanded to be allowed to travel to Kyiv.

"We do not want war, I do not want war very much. I know what war is. In order to avoid war, Putin "must break his teeth" in Ukraine, we have no other chance. Putin can strike Georgia only because I am in prison here. I urge you once again - even for security reasons, I'm not worried about my own safety - I call on the man who decides it to let me go to my friend and my commander-in-chief Zelensky in the most dangerous place in the world - Kyiv," Saakashvili said.

According to him, the fate of Kyiv and Georgia is being decided these days.

"Kyiv is Constantinople of Georgia, in addition to the fact that it is my home. Even if they take part of Kyiv, it is impossible for them to be able to completely control the capital and conquer the country, it is impossible. Putin has already been defeated because of such resistance," Mikheil Saakashvili said.
