Giorgi Mskhiladze: I cannot say that the President is being punished, but I am surprised that there was a two-hour discussion about what she has to say

I cannot say that the President is being punished, just one thing surprises me - there was a two-hour discussion about what she has to say, what she wants to say, whereas no one knows what the President actually wants to talk about, Giorgi Mskhiladze, President’s Parliamentary Secretary, told reporters after the Bureau meeting.

He said that since the President is authorized to deliver a speech at the first spring session, the selection of date up to the President and its selection is just a technical matter. Asked whether the President had consulted with the Parliament before the announcement, Mskhiladze said "Of course, she did."

"The only issue at the Bureau sitting was the President's speech in the Parliament tomorrow. Almost two hours were devoted to the issue, positions were expressed by party representatives. I want to tell you that the President has done a lot lately to reduce polarization in the country. She has the constitutional right to appear before the Parliament every year and deliver a report, but this caused 2 hours of incomprehensible discussion. To be honest, I cannot understand why this could lead to so many controversies between political parties. As for whether she will agree to deliver a report on March 15 or not, I have to consult with her about it," Mskhiladze said.
