According to him, Badri Gavashelishvili will definitely be punished and this case will end when Gavashelishvili will publicly say who instructed him or how much he was paid.

"This case is absurd in every way, it should have been a laughing stock for the whole country. The judge could have removed the camera footage and this 2-year endless show, fooling around called "Georgian justice", would not have taken place. It would have been clearly established that Gavashelishvili was the perpetrator. The culprit and abuser is Gavashelishvili, who came there with a task, the judiciary is silent about it, which is the main problem in this story, not whether he would fine me or sentence me to community service, two people came on assignment to physically abuse us, started a fight and got an answer. Any abuser will receive an adequate, proportionate but harsh response, no one will tolerate being sent provocateur physical abusers, harassment and prosecution against him/her. Badri Gavashelishvili will definitely be punished and this case will end when Gavashelishvili will publicly say who instructed him and how much they paid him in this case," Gigi Ugulava said.

According to the decision of the Tbilisi City Court, opposition leader Gigi Ugulava was found not guilty of violence against judoka Badri Gavashelishvili. The incident took place at Tbilisi Airport on December 11, 2019. Gigi Ugulava was charged under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which stipulates violence. He was accused of beating judoka Badri Gavashelishvili.
