According to Prosecutor Natia Guruli, the prosecution will appeal against the acquittal of Gigi Ugulava by the Tbilisi City Court in connection with the incident at the airport.
As she told reporters after the trial, the prosecution presented testimonies from the victim, persons accompanying him and border inspectors who witnessed episodes of the violence.
"The prosecution does not agree with the court decision and will definitely appeal. The court clarified that since the opposing parties had provided opposing information, it decided in favor of the accused, however, the prosecution considered that the evidence presented enabled a guilty verdict, so we will appeal the decision. The prosecution presented the testimonies of the victim, persons accompanying him and border inspectors who witnessed episodes of the violence, and this evidence, coupled with video recordings, confirmed that the crime was committed," said Natia Guruli.
